Christine Bunt
Christine Bunt is a senior executive, advisor & board member, with 25 years of experience in launching new products or starting new companies in Healthcare. She started and led several companies in Boston’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in biotechnology, as Founder & CEO.
Christine has established a reputation as a seasoned entrepreneur of biotechnological innovation, a builder of multi national strategic partnerships, and a committed mentor for company founders & CEO’s. Her leadership and transactional acumen and experience working with both Fortune 500 companies and early-stage startups offers her a unique perspective on growing successful businesses and driving shareholder value.
Christine is a member of Launchpad Venture Group and a Founder of BuntAssociates LLC. BuntAssociates provides capital & executive staffing for start up companies. Most recently, she has served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at Verseau Therapeutics. Prior to starting Verseau Therapeutics with Prof. Bob Langer and Prof. Dan Andersen from MIT, she was CEO and Founder of INTICA Biomedical (Personalized Medicine/Cancer) and TARIS Biomedical. TARIS Biomedical was co founded with Prof. Michael Cima and Prof. Robert Langer from MIT (acquired by Allergan in 2014 for $588 million and by J&J in 2019 for an undisclosed amount).
Previously, Christine was a Venture Partner with 2020HCP, a private investor group (exit: SQZ IPO, NYSE). She was a senior executive at Merck & Co, USA and Hoffmann-La Roche, CH, where she assumed various commercial leadership positions.
She successfully launched numerous pharmaceutical and diagnostics products worldwide during her tenure at both companies.
Christine holds degrees in Medical Technology and Immunochemistry (Biochemistry) from the Institute for Hygiene and Infectious Diseases/Medical School of the University of Saarbrücken, Germany. She also studied at INSEAD’s and Harvard’s Executive Education Program. Her studies at Insead focused on Corporate Finance.
She serves on various boards, including non-for profit boards. She is currently participating as a Mentor & Advisor in the Start-up Challenge of the National Institute of Aging. Christine has been a grant reviewer of the National Cancer Institute’s business program, after receiving several contracts and grants for her start-up companies from the Institute.
