Paul Blackborow
Paul Blackborow has been involved in successful startups, is experienced in mergers and acquisitions both from the selling and buying side, mentors new ventures in the Boston area, and acts as an occasional angel investor. He is the former CEO & Co-Chairman of Energetiq Technology, Inc., a company he cofounded in 2004 and now a subsidiary of Hamamatsu Photonics of Japan.
Paul’s career has focused on the technical sales and marketing of products used to manufacture semiconductor devices, particularly products that incorporate high-intensity plasmas. Prior to Energetiq, he served as Vice President of Corporate Marketing at MKS Instruments, and was responsible for corporate strategy and communications. He was a member of the executive team that managed MKS’ IPO in 1999 and the acquisition of 12 companies by MKS, including his previous employer, ASTeX, where he had served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to ASTeX, he was a member of the startup team for Plasma Technology, a semiconductor capital equipment company that was acquired by Oxford Instruments plc.
Paul holds an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University.
